<p>The retirement age of state government employees in Tamil Nadu has increased from 59 to 60 years, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced on Thursday 25.02.2021)</p>

<p>In the Legislative Assembly, issuing a suo motu declaration, he said the order would apply to government and government-assisted school workers, legal and statutory agencies, government sectors, municipal bodies, committees, boards and unions.</p>

<p>He said the announcement would cover all those who were in service and those who would retire on May 31, 2021.</p>



<p>The government extended the retirement age from 58 years to 59 years last year.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>ORDER:</strong></p>
<p>In the Government Order first read above, the Government sanctioned an ad-hoc increase in the Consolidated Pay/Fixed Pay/ Honorarium with effect from 01.01.2017 at the rate of Rs.20/- per month in respect of those drawing revised Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium upto Rs.600/- per month and at the rate of Rs.40/- per month in respect of those drawing revised Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium of above Rs.600/- per month.</p>
<p>2. In the Government Order second read above, orders were issued enhancing the Dearness Allowance payable to Government employees who are on regular and special time scales of pay with effect from 01.07.2017. Government has therefore, decided to grant ad-hoc increase to those drawing Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium with effect from 01.07.2017. Accordingly, Government direct that employees drawing Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium be allowed another ad-hoc increase with effect from 01.07.2017 as detailed below:-</p>

<p>3.The Government also direct that the arrears of ad-hoc increase for the months of July to September, 2017 be drawn and disbursed by existing cashless mode of Electronic Clearance System (ECS).</p>
<p>4.This order shall also apply to the employees of Local Bodies, Over Head Tank Operators and Sweepers working in Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.</p>
