Ministry of Railways approves 196 pairs of “Festival Special” services

These Festival Special trains 2020 will be operated between 20th October 2020 and 30th November 2020

The fare for these Festival Special services shall be that applicable for special trains

To clear the festive rush, Ministry of Railways has approved 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways to be operated from 20th October 2020 and 30th November 2020. The fare for these Festival Special services shall be that applicable for special trains.

Zonal Railways will notify their schedule well in advance.

Sub:- Validation of Duty/Privilege/Post Retirement Complimentary Passes (PRCP) in Hamsafar Express trains, Gatimaan Express trains and all other Special trains including Suvidha Express, Special Trains on special charges, etc.

On a demand raised in PREM Group Meeting, a proposal for standardization of travel entitlement on Passes has been under consideration.

2. After due deliberations, Board have decided to allow booking of berths/seats by serving/retired Railway Servants on Duty/Privilege/Post Retirement Complimentary Passes, as follows:-

(i) The accommodation in Hamsafar Express trains for Duty/Privilege/PRCP shall be earmarked as at par with that being earmarked in Rajdhani/Duronto Express trains.

(ii) In Gatimaan Express train, the accommodation for Duty/Privilege/PRCP shall be earmarked as at par with that being earmarked in Shatabdi Express trains.

(iii) In all other special trains including Suvidha Express, Special Trains on special charges, etc., the accommodation shall be earmarked on the lines of Rajdhani/Duronto/Shatabdi Express trains depending upon the type of coaches being attached in that train to the extent of 1AC-4, EC4, 2A-6, 3A-16, CC-4, SL-20 and 2S-20.

2. Booking of tickets in above categories of trains will be allowed on the basis of extant stamping on passes for travel by Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto Express trains with a minor modification that now the word “Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto Express type trains” shall be stamped. No additional stamping containing the name of any other train is to be made on the passes. The Pass Issuing Authorities should ensure that stamping on the passes is strictly in compliance with the Pass Rules and duly authenticated.

3. This information may be brought to the notice of all concerned.

4. CRIS will make necessary modifications in the software immediately under intimation to Board and all Zonal Railways.

5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance and Commercial Directorates of the Ministry of Railways.

6. Receipt of the letter may be acknowledged.

Indian Railways have made elaborate arrangements to clear extra rush of traffic for Holi festival. More than 360 trips of special trains have been planned to handle the rush during the Holi festival period. These special trains have been planned over approximately 17 different popular routes to clear extra rush of traffic.

Out of the Holi specials planned, 4 trains are unreserved, 3 are fully air-conditioned and 8 are provided with superfast status. The Holi specials are connecting important stations such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Pune, Gorakhpur, Patna, Dibrugarh, Banaras, Darbhanga, Barauni, Barelli, Secundrabad etc. Extra coaches will also be attached to regular trains to the extent operationally feasible.

The Zonal Railways and the Divisional Railways have made action plans for the convenience of the passengers during this rush period. Checking squads are being deployed at reservation offices; inspections are being strengthened to prevent misuse of tickets etc. Special arrangements are being made to make regular announcements about additional coaches, special trains etc at stations.

Railways have decided to run Special trains between Solapur and Jaipur via Sainagar Shirdi to clear the extra rush of passengers.The details are as under – 09714 Special will leave Solapur at 06.45 hrs o­n 13th, 20th & 27th March 2013 (Sainagar Shirdi dep. 15.00 hrs) and will reach Jaipur at 18.30 hrs next day.

09713 Special will leave Jaipur at 12.55 hrs o­n 11th, 18th & 25th March 2013 (Sainagar Shirdi dep. 15.40 hrs next day) and will arrive Solapur at 02.00 hrs next day.

Halts: Mohal, Madha, Kurduwadi, Jeur, Daund, Ahmednagar, Belapur, Puntamba, Sainagar Shirdi, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bhairagarh, Sehore, Shujalpur, Berchha, Maksi, Ujjain, Nagda, Chaumahla, Bhawani Mandi, Ramganj Mandi, Kota, Indragarh Sumerganj Mandi, Sawai Madhopur, Banasthali Niwai, Durgapura.

Composition: o­ne AC-2 Tier, two AC-3 tier, 11 Sleeper Class, two General Second class and two general second class cum guard’s brake vans.
