Reservation

The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, inter-alia, provides reservation for Persons with Disabilities. Four per cent of the total number of vacancies to be filled up by direct recruitment, in the cadre strength, in each group of posts, i.e. Groups A, B, and C, are reserved for such persons in the following manner

CategoriesPercentage
a. blindness and low vision1%
b. deaf and hard of hearing 1%
c. locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy 1%
d. autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; and
e. multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness		 1%

This was stated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh todayin a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
