										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>ACCEPTING OF E-AADHAAR AS PRESCRIBED PROOF OF IDENTITY FOR RESERVED JOURNEY</strong></p>
<p>Ministry of Railways has decided to incorporate downloaded Aadhaar (e-Aadhaar) as prescribed proof of identity at par with printed Aadhaar card as mentioned in the list of prescribed proofs of identity which are valid for undertaking journey in trains in reserved class. Railway passengers may carry anyone of the below identity proof while travelling in reserved class coaches :</p>
<p><strong>1.Voter Photo Identity Card issued by Election Commission of India</strong></p>
<p><strong>2.Passport</strong></p>
<p><strong>3.PAN Card issued by Income Tax Department</strong></p>
<p><strong>4.Driving Licence issued by RTO</strong><br />
<strong>5.Photo Identity Card having serial number issued by Central/State Government.</strong></p>
<p><strong>6.Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized School/College for their Students.</strong></p>
<p><strong>7.Nationalised Bank Passbook with Photograph</strong></p>
<p><strong>8.Credit Cards issued by Banks with laminated photograph</strong></p>
<p><strong>9.Printed unique identification card &#8220;Aadhaar&#8221; or downloaded Aadhaar (e-Aadhaar).</strong></p>
<p><strong>10. Ration Card with photograph of passenger travelling.</strong></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Insurance Scheme For Railway Passengers</strong></p>
<p>An Optional Travel Insurance Scheme on a pilot basis for one year has been launched w.e.f 01.09.2016 for the Railway passengers who book e-ticket through official website of Indian Railway Catering &amp; Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) at the premium of Rs. 0.92 per passenger.</p>
<p>This insurance scheme provides financial support to the family/legal heir in case of death/injury of reserved passengers due to train accident/untoward incidents as defined under section 123 read with Sections 124 and 124A of the Railways Act, 1989, subject to the qualification that the coverage will be valid from the actual departure of train from the originating station to actual arrival of train at the destination station including &#8216;process of entraining&#8217; and &#8216;process of detraining&#8217; the train.</p>
<p>The Sums Insured to be given to passengers are as follows: (i) In case of Death- Rs. 10 lakh, (ii) Permanent Total Disability &#8211; Rs. 10 Lakh, (iii) Permanent Partial Disability upto- Rs. 7.5 Lakh, (iv) Hospitalization Expenses for Injury -Rs. 2 Lakh, (v) Transportation of mortal remains &#8211; Rs. 10 Thousand.</p>
<p>IRCTC which is a wholly owned undertaking of Ministry of Railways has entered into an agreement with three Insurance Companies through Limited Tender, namely (i) Shriram General Insurance Company Ltd., (ii) ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd., and (iii) Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Ltd.<br />
(a) Ex-gratia is paid to the victims of train accidents and untoward incidents at the following scales:</p>

<p>The insurance scheme is available on optional basis to passengers of all reserved classes (SL, 1AC, 2AC, 3AC etc.) of all trains except passenger trains and sub-urban trains for tickets booked online on the IRCTC websites.</p>

<p>Wi-Fi facility with free access to rail passengers for first 30 minutes in a day is proposed to be provided at all A1 (75), A (332) and B(302) i.e. total 709 railways stations. For period after 30 minutes the service will be available on payment.</p>
<p>Initially the Wi-Fi service is proposed to be provided at 400 nos. of A1 and A category stations. For B category stations Request For Proposal (RFP) issued and date of opening is 23.12.2015.</p>
<p>Initially Wi-Fi project shall be undertaken in phases to cover all A1 and A category stations.</p>
<p>Non-Suburban stations with an annual passenger earning of more than ` 60 crores are categorised as A1 stations. Non-Suburban stations with an annual passenger earnings of ` 8 crores and upto ` 60 crores are categorised as A stations.</p>
<p>RailTel Corporation of India Limited (a Public Sector Undertaking of Ministry of Railways) has entered into a collaboration with M/s. Mahataa Information India Private Limited (an Indian Subsidiary of Google Inc.) for the present, no direct investment has been made so far. The proposed investment will come in the form of providing technology, design and equipments required for providing Wi-Fi service.</p>
<p>Work of providing of Wi-Fi service within the scope of the collaboration is in progress at 100 category A1 and A stations, after which work at balance 300 category A1 and A stations shall be taken up. For B category stations Request For Proposal (RFP) issued and date of opening is 23.12.2015</p>
<p>This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.</p>
