]]> Re-opening of KV Schools after winter break – Holidays continue upto 15th January 2013.

The management of KVS has decided after with the consultation of various Regional Offices, re-opening of KV Schools after the winter holidays will be rescheduled as per the condition of respected central government offices. It will be either 14th or 15th Janurary 2013, due to festival of Ponal and Sankaranti. The order has been published in the official portal of KVS and the same is reproduced here…

Subject :- Re-opening of Kendriya Vidyalayas after Winter Break-reg.
Madam/Sir,
This office has been approached by various Regional Offices of KVS and some VVIPs with regard to re-opening of KVs after Winter Breck on 14th January, 2013. The Winter Break will be over on 13th January, 2013 (Sunday) and 14th January, 2013 is being celebrated as Pongal/Makar Sankranti etc.
The re-opening of KVs after Winter Break has been reviewed at KVS(HQ) and it has been decided that : “Wherever Central Govt. offices are closed on 14.01.2013, the KVs will re-open on 15th January, 2013, after the Winter Break.
All concerned may be informed accordingly.
This issues with approval of Commissioner, KVS.

9 Rajya Sabha and 67 Lok Sabha Members have not used their full quota of 6 admissions in Kendriya Vidyalaya in the academic session 2012-13 at all and some Members have used their Quota partially.

A total of 1761 seats under this quota remained unutilized in the past three years, i.e. 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 as given below:-

This information was given by the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Shashi Tharoor in Rajya Sabha today.

CBSE AFFILIATION GROWS : KVS 1002 SHCOOLS:
The number of schools affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education has increased from 12135 (as on 14.10.2011) to 12368 (as on 12.01.2012). There were 233 new schools affiliated with the Borad in a short span of three months.
The affiliated schools are managed by different management bodies such as :
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan : 1002 Schools
State Government and Government aided Schools : 1942 Schools
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools : 562 Schools
Central Tibetan Schools : 30 Schools
Other independent/private schools : 8832 Schools.
In addition to granting affiliation, 53 Secondary Schools were upgraded to Senior Secondary Level during the aforesaid peirod.

This is to request you to issue instructions to all the Principals of your region that they ought to honour all the admission orders issued from the KVS(Hq.), under the MP Quota for the year 2012-13 up to 1st Oct, 2012 as 29th & 30th September happen to he holidays (being Saturday and Sunday).

Kendriya Vidyalayas Adopt New Uniform

The new uniform for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan students was released, here today. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan caters to the educational needs of about 10.7 lakh boys and girls studying in various classes from classes I-XII across the country and abroad. The KVS is completing 50 years and on the eve of its golden jubilee, KVS has introduced its new uniform pattern for the Kendriya Vidayalaya students from the academic session 2012-13. 

The present uniform design has been in vogue since the inception of KVS in 1963. The new design is with the view to remain contemporary and to provide a unique identity to its students, keeping in mind the comfort and the cost factors. The new uniform has been designed in collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The Board of Governors in their 92nd meeting held on 18th May 2012 has approved of the adoption of a new uniform pattern for the KVS as designed by the NIFT, New Delhi.
