GRANT OF CANTEEN FACILITIES TO THE FAMILY PENSIONERS OF RETIRED DEFENCE CIVILIANS

1. Further to this HQ letter No. 96301/Q/DDGCS/Policy dated 12 Aug 2015.

2. Govt of India, MoD vide letter No. 8(14)/2015 dated 04 Mar 2016 has extended Canteen facilities to family pensioners of retired Defence Civilian employees. The procedure for processing of application will be as per this Dte letter No. 96301/Q/DDGCS/Policy dated 12 Aug 2015. The applicant must write Family Pensioner of retired defence civilian on the application form.

3. All HQ are requested to disseminate this letter to all Fmns/Units/URCs in their jurisdiction.

Defence Pension Adalat at Jamshedpur on 29th and 30 th October, 2013

As per the Annual action Plan of Controller General of Defence Accounts, New Delhi in consultation with the Ministry of Defence, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) Allahabad will be organising the 119th Defence Pension Adalat at Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) on 29th and 30 th October, 2013 for redressal of grievances of Defence pensioners including Defence Civilians drawing pension through PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS, TOs’ and DPDOs in the State of Jharkhand and adjoining areas.

Objective
Any Defence Pensioners / Defence Family Pensioners / Defence Civilian and their families having any specific grievances relating to sanction or disbursement of Defence pension are requested to submit their representation, in writing, in duplicate to :

A format of the representation is given on this website. Applicants are advised to apply as per the format, for easy processing of their applications.

Kindly Note
Applications can either be sent by post or by E-Mail
Two copies of the applications should be sent
Photocopies of Pension payment order, Corr PPO, discharge certificate (wherever required) and other documents must be enclosed
Each application will be allotted a unique Adalat Registration Number. The same should be quoted in all future correspondence.
Individual call letters notifying the date and venue of the Adalat will be sent in due course
Incomplete and unsigned representations will be rejected.
The Date of the Pension Adalat on dt 29 th & 30th Octobar, 2013 at Tulsi Bhavan, Near Gopal Maidan, Bishtapur, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand).

TA/DA will not be reimbursed to pensioners/individuals attending the Adalat for redressal of their pension related problems.

Office Memorandum

Sub : Family pension – list of documents to be submitted by a claimant member of family (other than spouse) along with Form 14, PPO and death certificate in respect of the deceased pensioner/family pensioner regarding.

The undersigned is directed to refer to Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare O.M. of even number, dated 8th December, 2011 on the above subject (copy enclosed).

From the representations received in this Department, it appears that some offices ask the applicant family pensioners for the documents not indicated in the office memorandum indicated above.

All the Ministries/Departments are requested to instruct their attached/subordinate/field offices to follow the instructions contained in the O.M. dated 8.12.2011 strictly to avoid any hardships to the family pensioners. They may also be advised to go through the other office memoranda issued during the last two years as contained in the Circulars on Family Pension on this Department’s website and also on pensionersportal.gov.in.

SUBJECT : Restoration of withheld portion of Ordinary Family Pension to widow of ESM in Nepal.

The proposal regarding restoration of withheld portion of Ordinary family pension to the Widow of ESM in Nepal has been under consideration by the Government of India. As per extant provision, ordinary family pension can be divided in the event of a pensioner having more than one wife. Plural marriages are apparently very common in Nepal. Therefore, Record office, Indian Embassy has recommended apportionment of ordinary family pension depending upon the number of wives recorded. PCDS(P) is the pension sanctioning authority and full share of family pension to a claimant is not agreed unless it is established that the other widows whose names are recorded are dead.

Circular has been published by the Controller of Defence Accounts, Chennai division regarding Defence Pension Adalat.

Kind attention to defence pensioners and family pensioners in the State of Kerala, Defence Pension Adalat will be held during the month of December for redressal of any grievances relating to sanction / disbursement of Defence Pension.

For participating the adalat, Defence pensioners / Defence family pensioners (including Commissioned Officers and also Defence civilians) should apply in a white paper or a special application form available in the website, same could be downloaded and send your grievances before 30th September, 2012 to the office of the Controller of Defence Accounts, Chennai.
