<p>Subject- <strong>Exemption u/s 80(G) of Income Tax Act on donations to DCMAF</strong></p>
<p>1. Consequent on the decision taken by the Managing Committee in its 57th annual meeting held on 28th June 2013 under the chairmanship of Defence Secretary, the Defence Civilians Medical Aid Fund (DCMAF) has been registered u/s 80(G) of Income Tax Act 1961 for the period from Assessment year 2014-15 onwards. All civilian employees working under Ministry of Defence can get exemption on income tax u/s 80(G) of the IT Act on their donations to DCMAF exceeding Rs. 250/-.</p>
<p>2. it is requested that the contents of this letter may please be widely disseminated for information of all members/employees under your administrative jurisdiction.</p>

<p></strong> DCMAF &#8211; Revision of nutritious dietary allowance to Lactating female members and spouses of the male members has been reduced from Rs. 3,200/- for four months (@ Rs.800/- per month) to Rs. 2,800/- for four months (@ Rs. 700/- per month).</p>
<p>As per the decision taken in the 57th Annual meeting of the Managing Committee of Defence Civilians Medical Aid Fund (DCMAF), the additional subscription also to be paid per year, till the subscription rates are revised.</p>

<p>The 57th Annual meeting of the Managing Committee of Defence Civilians Medical Aid Fund (DCMAF) was held on 28th June 2013 under the Chairmanship of the Defence Secretary. The following decisions were taken in the meeting:</p>
<p>(i) Members be requested to pay additional Rs.20/- per member per year, till the subscription rates are revised;</p>
<p>(ii) The amount of nutritious dietary allowance to Lactating female members and spouses of the male members has been reduced from Rs. 3,200/- for four months (@ Rs.800/- per month) to Rs. 2,800/- for four months (@ Rs. 700/- per month);</p>
<p>(iii) All members must apply for the ‘Lactating Mother’ allowance alongwith the Birth Certificate within two months from the date of delivery and Unit / Estts must submit the request to DCMAF within another one month. Delayed cases beyond this period will not be entertained’;</p>
<p>(iv) &#8216;Accidental Ex-gratia’ Grant to the dependents of the member on duty has been stopped as the family of the deceased employee is entitled to get the same from the Govt under ‘Worksman Compensation Act&#8217;.</p>
<p>4. The above provisions will be effective for compliance from 01st August 2013.</p>
