										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Details of the pension schemes being run by the Central Government</strong></p>
<p>Under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) administered by Ministry of Rural Development, central assistance is provided only to old aged, widows, disabled persons and bereaved families on death of primary bread winner belonging to Below Poverty Line households irrespective of their caste category. The schemes are implemented both in urban and rural areas.</p>
<p>At present the scheme of NSAP comprises of 5 schemes applicable to BPL persons which are as follows:-</p>
<blockquote><p>i. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS)</p>
<p>ii. Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS)</p>
<p>iii. Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS)</p>
<p>iv. National Family Benefit Pension (NFBS)</p>
<p>v. Annapurna Scheme.</p></blockquote>
<p>The details of these 5 schemes along with the amount of assistance provided is enclosed as Annexure.</p>
<p>Assistance under the schemes of NSAP is provided to all persons who are Below Poverty Line including Scheduled Castes. The details of number of persons belonging to Scheduled Caste benefited under the schemes of NSAP is not available, as this information is not obtained/reported by States.</p>
<p>A Task Force constituted under the Chairmanship of Member Planning Commission, considered all the issues, demands and suggestions relating to social assistance/ security, received from various quarters and submitted its report in March, 2013, inter-alia, recommending expanding scope of coverage and increasing the quantum of pension. Further action has been initiated to process the recommendations of the Task Force.</p>

<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>ANNEXURE</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Eligibility criteria and the amount of assistance underthe schemes of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)</strong></p>
<p>Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS): Central assistance of Rs. 200/- per month is provided to persons in the age group of 60-79 years and Rs. 500/- per month to persons of 80 years and above.</p>
<p>Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS): Under the scheme, Central assistance @ Rs. 300/- per month is provided to widows in the age-group of 40-79 years. On reaching the age of 80 years, the beneficiary is shifted to IGNOAPS to get enhanced assistance of Rs.500/- per month.</p>
<p>Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS): Under the scheme Central assistance @ Rs. 300/- per month is provided to persons aged 18-79 years with severe and multiple disabilities. On reaching the age of 80 years, the beneficiary is shifted to IGNOAPS to get enhanced assistance of Rs. 500/- per month.</p>
<p>National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS): Under the scheme a BPL household is entitled to lump sum amount of money on the death of primary breadwinner aged between 18 and 59 years. The amount of assistance is Rs. 20,000/-</p>
<p>Annapurna: Under the scheme, 10 kg of food grains per month are provided free of cost to those senior citizens who, though eligible, are not receiving old age pension.</p>
<p>The above information was submitted as a written reply to a question in Parliament on 22nd July 2014 by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Sudarshan Bhagat.</p>

<div>The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s O.M. No.1/16/96-P&amp;PW(E), dated 2.12.1996 whereby it was clarified that Pensionary benefits will be granted to children of a deceased Government servant/pensioner from void or voidable marriages when their turn comes in accordance with Rule 54(8). It is mentioned in Para 4 of the O.M. that &#8220;It may be noted that they will have no claim whatsoever to receive family pension as long as the legally wedded wife is the recipient of the same.”</div>

<div>2. The matter has been re-examined in consultation with the Ministry of Law and justice(Department of Legal Affairs) and Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure). It has been decided that in supersession of Para 4 of the O.M., ibid, dated 2.12.1996, the share of children from illegally wedded wife in the family pension shall be payable to them in the manner given under sub-rule 7 (c) of Rule 54 of CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972, along with the legally wedded wife.</div>

<div>3. It has also been decided that in past cases, no recovery from the previous beneficiary should be made. On receipt of an application from eligible child/children of the deceased Government employee/pensioner born to an ineligible mother, a decision regarding division or otherwise of family pension may be taken by the competent authority after satisfying himself/herself about veracity of facts and entitlement of the applicant (s).</div>

<div>4. As regards pensioners/family pensioners belonging to the Indian Audit and Accounts Departments, these Orders issue after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.</div>
<div></div>
<div>5. This issues with the concurrence of Department of Legal Affairs vide their FTS No.3036, dated 17.10.2012.</div>
<div></div>
<div>6. This issues with the concurrence of Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure vide their I.D. No.530/E.V/2012, dated 23.11.2012.</div>

<div><strong>Freedom Fighters Pension  Scheme :-</strong></div>

<div>The details of rate of monthly pension paid by the State Government of Tamil Nadu to Freedom Fighters / Freedom Fighters Pensioners under Central Pension Scheme&#8230;</div>
<div></div>
<div><strong>CENTRAL PENSION SCHEME</strong> :-  The Central Government have been implementing the Scheme of Freedom Fighters Pension (Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension) with effect from 15.08.1972.  According to this Scheme, the following concessions are granted&#8230;</div>
</div>
<p>i)  Each recipient of Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension is getting Rs. 6,330 as pension along with 143% Dearness Allowance i.e. Rs.15,382/-   with effect from 1.8.2011.</p>
<p>The total number of persons who are receiving Central Freedom Fighters Pension / Family Pension is  2,237.33</p>
<p>ii)  State Pension of  Rs.500/- per month from the State Funds is paid to those who receive Central Freedom Fighters Pension/Central Family Pension.</p>
