Kindly note that the minimum age for admission to Std 1 is 6 years and the maximum admissible age is 8 years as on 01-04-2022, with a 2 year relaxation in upper age limit for “Differently-Abled” candidates

The KVS portal strictly follows the age limit for admission to class 1! If the applicant provides an incorrect date of birth, the portal displays a dialogue box with new-age registration criteria right away!

KVS New Age Limit for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2022-23
The child must be at least 6 years old but not more than 8 years old to be eligible for KVS Class I.
The child must be at least 6 years old but not more than 8 years old to be eligible for KVS Class II.
The child must be at least 7 years old but not more than 9 years old to be eligible for KVS Class III.
The child must be at least 8 years old and not more than 10 years old to be eligible for KVS Class IV.
The child must be at least 9 years old but not more than 11 years old to be eligible for KVS Class V.
The child must be at least 10 years old and not more than 12 years old to be eligible for KVS Class VI.
The child must be at least 11 years old and not more than 13 years old to be eligible for KVS Class VII.
The child must be at least 12 years old and not more than 14 years old to be eligible for KVS Class VIII.
The child must be at least 13 years old and not more than 15 years old to be eligible for KVS Class IX.
The child must be at least 13 years old and not more than 15 years old to be eligible for KVS Class X.
Note: In the case of differently abled children, the maximum age limit can be modified by two years by the Principal. There is no upper age limit for admission to Class XI if the student applies in the year after clearing the Class X examination. Similarly, there would be no upper or lower age limit for admission to class XII if the student has not taken a break from his or her studies since passing class XI.
