7th Pay Commission Dress Allowance Rules for Central Government Employees
Eligibility for Dress Allowance
Dress Allowance is usually paid exclusively in the month of July. Employees who join the department between July and December of the preceding calendar year are entitled to the full Dress Allowance for the next calendar year. Those who join after December will receive half the Dress Allowance in July of the following year.
The 7th Pay Commission recommended all uniform related allowances viz.
- Clothing Allowance
- Initial Equipment Allowance
- Kit Maintenance Allowance
- Robe Allowance
- Robe Maintenance Allowance
- Shoe Allowance
- Uniform Allowance and
- Washing Allowance
It has been consolidated into a single Dress Allowance
7th CPC Dress Allowance and Grant of Various allowance to Central Government Employees
7th CPC Dress Allowance in Railways
After the 7th Pay Commission, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) are eligible to a dress allowance.
- Officers in the RPF and RPSF are paid Rs. 20,000 per year.
- Indian Railways Station Masters: Rs. 210.000 per annum
- Indian Railways Trackmen and Running Staff: Rs. 5,00 per annum
7th CPC Dress Allowance in Defence
- PBOR (Personnel Below Officer Rank): Rs 10,000 per year
- Group of Special Protection (SPG) Annual operational cost: Rs. 27,800
- Group of Special Protection (SPG) Rs. 21,225 per annum (non-operational)
- Officers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force are paid Rs. 20,000 per year.
- Officers in the CAPF, CPO, IPS, and Coast Guard: Rs. 20,000 per annum
- DANIPS/ACP Delhi Police MNS Officers: Rs. 15,000 per annum
7th CPC Dress Allowance in Other Departments
- 5,000 rupees per annum for staff car drivers, MTS, and canteen employees.
- Customs Executive Staff: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Rs. 10,000 per annum, Central Excise and Narcotics Department
- Officers of the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) are paid a yearly salary of Rs. 10,000.
- Legal Officers of the NIA are paid Rs. 10,000 per year.
- Personal at the Bureau of Immigration: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- UT Police Forces: Rs. 10,000 per year
- Rs. 10,000 per annum for the Indian Coast Guard
7th CPC Dress Allowance in Nurses
- Staff Nurses: Rs. 21,600 per annum
Each time Dearness Allowance increases by 50%, Dress Allowance rates will increase by 25%.
